The DRC Prime Minister signed a decree on 16 July 2012: Decree No. 12/021.

The special economic zone will be established at Maluku and is earmarked for industrial development and will serve as an investment vehicle promoting growth and rapid industrialization.

DRC became a member of OHADA on July 13, 2012, by the deposit of instru-ments and joining with the Government of the State Depository of the Treaty in Dakar Senegal.
This Treaty shall enter into force 60 days after the DRC filing or after 12 September 2012.
